According to @fash_rev , 25% of a garment's carbon footprint comes from customer care. With every wash, synthetic fibres shed micro-plastic fibres, accounting for the majority of plastics in our ocean.

Here are our top washing tips:
🧶 Use cold water.
🧶 Wash less: It's ok to re-wear if it's odour and stain free.
🧶 Purchase natural fibres: linen, hemp and bamboo are perfect wardrobe additions.
🧶 Use a washing bag designed to contain and catch fibres from your synthetics (check out @guppyfriend).
🧶 Throw a tennis ball in you washing machine and dryer to catch and fuzz swirling around.

A new recycling technology and circular design solution is on the horizon in #Denmark, with the aim to recycle all textile waste in the country.

The #textile problem will be tackled from two angles: How can the textile industry get better at designing sustainably? And which technologies can ensure #circularity for consumer textile waste?

Denmarks recycling process will start by sorting the clothes based on attributes like colour, material, and attachments. For the harder material such as #polyester, they will rely on chemical recycling. The process makes it possible - under the influence of water, heat and pressure - to convert the textile stream into oil products that can be used for the production of plastic, fuel or synthetic textile fibre.
